Methodology
How we compute these numbers
FractionalPulse aggregates fractional executive job listings from public sources weekly. A listing is included only if it (a) names an engagement keyword (fractional, interim, part-time, 1099) AND (b) names an executive-level role (CFO, CMO, CTO, COO, CRO, CHRO, CPO, VP, director, chief, head-of, controller). Listings that fail either filter are excluded.
Median hourly rates are computed from listings that publicly disclose compensation. Sample sizes (n) are shown alongside each number. Where comp is undisclosed, the listing is counted toward the total but not the rate calculation.
Hiring velocity reflects total active fractional executive listing counts across scraper runs. Outlier values from early data-collection days are excluded.
