About This Role
Position Overview
SMCG is seeking a Part\-Time Controller to oversee the day\-to\-day financial operations of the organization. This individual will be responsible for payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, invoicing, and related accounting functions while working directly with the President \& CEO.
This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a growing entrepreneurial environment and wants the opportunity to contribute beyond traditional accounting functions. As the organization continues to expand, additional responsibilities may be added based on company growth and individual performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage bi\-weekly payroll processing and payroll\-related administration.
- Maintain employee PTO and compensation records.
- Oversee accounts payable, vendor management, and bill payment processes.
- Manage accounts receivable, collections, and client payment follow\-up.
- Generate and distribute client invoices.
- Maintain and reconcile accounting records within QuickBooks.
- Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, cash flow summaries, and accounts receivable reports.
- Assist with budgeting and financial planning activities.
- Build financial reports, dashboards, and Excel\-based analyses.
- Support profitability analysis and operational reporting.
- Assist with financial assessments and consulting projects as needed.
- Coordinate with outside CPA and tax professionals for tax filings and compliance matters.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and reporting.
Education \& Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- MBA, Master of Accounting (MAcc), CPA, or other advanced business credentials preferred.
- Minimum of five years of progressive accounting, controller, or financial management experience required.
- Strong understanding of payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, reporting, and data analysis.
- Experience with QuickBooks required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and problem\-solving abilities.
- Healthcare industry experience preferred but not required.

Pay: $40\.00 \- $65\.00 per hour
