About This Role

Description:

The Head of School serves as the leader of Accelerate Online Academy (AOA), providing overall leadership and accountability for the school’s academic performance, operational effectiveness, enrollment growth, student success, and financial sustainability. This position is responsible for ensuring the Academy delivers exceptional educational experiences while achieving strategic, operational, and financial objectives.

Working collaboratively with instructional, operational, and organizational leaders, the Head of School establishes and executes the Academy’s vision, driving strong student outcomes, high levels of family satisfaction, sustainable growth, and compliance with all applicable accreditation, regulatory, and governance requirements.

The Head of School serves as the primary steward of the Academy’s performance and is accountable for achieving high standards of academic quality, student retention, enrollment growth, operational efficiency, and financial sustainability.

Responsibilities:

Academic Leadership \& Student Success

· Provide strategic leadership for the academic programs and educational quality of Accelerate Online Academy.

· Ensure curriculum, instruction, assessment, and student support services align with the Academy’s mission, educational philosophy, and performance goals.

· Lead initiatives focused on student achievement, engagement, retention, graduation rates, and college and career readiness.

· Establish and oversee school\-wide student success strategies, including intervention systems and supports for students experiencing academic, attendance, or pacing challenges.

· Monitor academic, engagement, and performance data to identify trends, drive decision\-making, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

· Collaborate with instructional managers, teachers, counselors, and support staff to improve student outcomes and address performance concerns.

· Ensure effective student and family onboarding, engagement, and support processes that foster student success and satisfaction.

· Serve as an escalation point for significant student, family, and academic concerns, ensuring timely and appropriate resolution.

· Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, applicable state educational requirements, and all applicable policies and regulations.

· Promote a culture of academic excellence, accountability, student\-centered decision\-making, and continuous improvement throughout the Academy.

Enrollment Growth \& Strategic Development

· Develop and execute strategies to achieve enrollment, retention, and growth objectives.

· Collaborate with marketing, business development, and organizational leaders to strengthen the Academy’s market presence and attract new families.

· Foster strategic partnerships, programs, and initiatives that support sustainable growth and advance the Academy's mission.

· Evaluate market trends, competitive positioning, and enrollment data to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.

· Represent the Academy with prospective families, partners, community organizations, and key stakeholders.

· Support the development of new programs, partnerships, and strategic initiatives that expand the Academy’s reach and impact.

Operational Leadership \& Student Services

· Provide leadership and oversight for school operations ensuring efficient, scalable and student\-centered processes.

· Oversee counseling, student support, intervention, and family engagement services to promote student success and well\-being.

· Ensure systems and processes effectively support enrollment, onboarding, attendance, student progress monitoring, and family communication.

· Collaborate with school leaders and staff to improve operational effectiveness, service quality, and stakeholder satisfaction.

· Oversee student activities, clubs, events, and engagement initiatives that strengthen school culture and community.

· Ensure compliance with applicable operational, regulatory, and reporting requirements.

Financial Management \& Organizational Performance

· Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.

· Monitor enrollment, revenue, staffing, and operating expenses to ensure financial sustainability.

· Establish and monitor key performance indicators related to academic achievement, retention, enrollment growth, family satisfaction, operational efficiency, and financial performance.

· Utilize data and performance metrics to guide decision\-making, identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement.

· Identify opportunities to improve profitability while maintaining educational quality and student outcomes.

· Provide regular reports and recommendations to executive leadership regarding organizational performance, risks, opportunities, and strategic priorities.

Education

· Master’s degree required.

· Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Educational Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

· Principal certification or administrative credential preferred.

Experience

· Minimum of five years of educational leadership experience.

· Experience leading online, virtual, or blended learning programs strongly preferred.

· Demonstrated success managing academic programs and educational outcomes.

· Experience overseeing budgets, financial performance, operational processes, or business functions.

· Experience with learning management systems, student information systems, and educational data reporting tools.

· Experience developing and executing strategic growth initiatives preferred.

This employee reports to the VP of Client Services.

Pay: $51,147\.16 \- $61,596\.57 per year
