We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Fractional Controller to lead financial management and reporting for our organization on a part\-time basis. Duties
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant standards.
- Manage the month\-end and year\-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reports.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, accounts receivable/payable management, and general ledger maintenance using software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar systems.
- Lead regulatory reporting efforts including compliance with SOX controls, governmental requirements, and nonprofit regulations.
- Perform cost accounting analysis and budgeting to support strategic planning and operational efficiency.
- Supervise and manage accounting teams, providing mentorship and ensuring adherence to best practices in financial management.
- Execute cash management strategies including treasury management, cash flow forecasting, and banking relationships.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations through detailed internal controls, regulatory audits, and internal policy enforcement.
- Support technical accounting functions such as revenue recognition, payroll processing, and financial software integrations.
- Conduct financial analysis using Excel data analysis techniques to inform decision\-making processes across departments.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Controller or senior finance leader with a strong background in accounting principles such as GAAP and IFRS.
- Extensive knowledge of SOX compliance, governmental accounting standards, nonprofit accounting practices, and international accounting regulations.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing complex financial systems like QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including double\-entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, debits \& credits, and balance sheet management.
- Exceptional skills in financial report writing, spreadsheet analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and financial management.
- Experience managing accounting teams within diverse organizational settings such as public sector or nonprofit entities.
- Ability to perform detailed account analysis including accounts payable/receivable reconciliation and cost analysis.
- Excellent communication skills for preparing clear financial reports and presenting insights to stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred but not required.
