The Mandate

Hernandez Development \& Construction is a vertically integrated real estate powerhouse with 23 years of "Execution Certainty." As we manage a $2B\+ portfolio of Class A industrial and commercial assets, we are seeking a Fractional CFO who does more than report on the past—we need a visionary to architect our financial future.

This is a strategic role designed for a "Systems Architect" CFO. You will own our data, evaluate our financial infrastructure, assess our human capital within the finance department, and implement the technology necessary to scale toward our next billion in assets.

Key Responsibilities1\. Data Sovereignty \& Financial Forecasting

  • The Crystal Ball: Move beyond historical reporting to build robust, predictive financial models and 13\-week cash flow forecasts.
  • Project Performance: Establish deep\-dive data analytics for project\-level profitability, ensuring "Problem/Solution/Result" metrics are visible in real\-time.
  • Investor Reporting: Elevate the sophistication of our financial reporting for capital partners and internal stakeholders.

2\. Systems \& Infrastructure Architecture

  • Tech Stack Optimization: Audit our current financial tech stack (SAGE, Procore, etc.) and lead the implementation of automated systems that eliminate manual data entry and silos.
  • Scaling the "Hernandez Way": Standardize SOPs for all financial workflows, ensuring the infrastructure can support rapid vertical growth without adding unnecessary headcount.

3\. Team \& Talent Assessment

  • Human Capital Audit: Evaluate the current internal accounting/finance team. Identify skills gaps, mentor high\-potential staff, and advise on future department structure.
  • Accountability Frameworks: Establish KPIs for the finance team to ensure alignment with the company’s "Purpose Driven" culture.

4\. Capital \& Risk Strategy

  • Lender/Partner Relations: Act as the primary financial voice in high\-level negotiations with lenders and equity partners.
  • Work\-In\-Progress (WIP) Management: Ensure absolute accuracy in WIP reporting and revenue recognition to safeguard the firm’s bonding capacity and credit\-worthiness.

The Requirements

  • The Track Record: 15\+ years of financial leadership, with significant experience in Commercial Real Estate (CRE) or General Contracting (GC).
  • Tech\-Forward: You must be highly technology\-savvy. We are looking for someone who understands ERPS, data visualization tools (PowerBI/Tableau), and modern AEC fintech.
  • The "Builder" Mindset: You enjoy the "cleanup and build" phase of a company’s evolution. You aren't just a consultant; you are an owner of the outcome.
  • Proximity: Ability to be on\-site at our Las Olas, Fort Lauderdale headquarters 1–2 days per week to collaborate with the executive team.
