About Bold Reuse
Bold Reuse is the largest reusable serviceware operator in U.S. sports and entertainment. We partner with stadiums, arenas, festivals, and event venues to replace single\-use cups and containers with a fully managed reusable system. We're closing our Series A, operating across 6\+ markets with 100\+ customers, and growing fast.
We're a lean, mission\-driven team doing real work that matters. You'll build as much as you maintain, with direct visibility into how the business runs.
About the Role
We need a sharp, reliable finance operator to own the integrity of our financial operations as we scale. This is a fractional engagement at 20–30 hours per week at $75/hr. The right person is a few years into their finance or accounting career, has worked in a startup or high\-growth environment, and is ready to own something real without layers of bureaucracy in the way.
You'll work directly with our leadership team and alongside our external finance and accounting agency. This role also comes with potential for a small equity grant and a path to full\-time as we grow. This position can be fully\-remote, but Portland, OR location is preferred.
What You'll Own
Financial Operations
- Assess and implement tools to automate billing, expense tracking, and revenue reporting
- Build repeatable, scalable financial processes for a multi\-market, event\-based business
- Develop internal controls and SOPs that ensure accuracy without creating bottlenecks
- Own the integrity of financial statements across multiple locations and departments
- Drive quarterly variance analysis with department leads and warehouse managers
- Partner with our external finance agency to consolidate reporting that drives action
Billing \& Cash Flow
- Oversee event and enterprise client billing — invoice quickly, accurately, and completely
- Identify and close AR gaps, accelerate collections, and optimize cash inflows
- Manage customer finance onboarding including tax setup and contract\-linked billing rules
- Ensure all billable items (launch fees, inventory, hourly support) are captured and tracked
Financial Insight \& Reporting
- Support bottoms\-up revenue forecasting based on pipeline, events, and customer expansion
- Deliver insights that drive pricing, margin, and unit economics decisions
- Support board and investor reporting with financial narratives that surface risks and opportunities
- Help model business scenarios by market, customer type, or service line
Payroll, Commissions \& Compliance
- Review and approve payroll; ensure time tracking aligns with event delivery
- Calculate and validate sales commissions
- Manage tax compliance across jurisdictions, including sales tax exemptions and filings
- Conduct internal audits and support year\-end tax preparation
Who You Are
- 4–6 years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial operations at a startup or high\-growth company
- QuickBooks fluency required
- Comfortable with Ramp, Google Sheets/Excel, and tools like HubSpot, Asana, or Airtable
- You work independently and communicate proactively when something needs attention
- You thrive in environments where the path isn't always fully paved yet
- Bonus: experience in multi\-state tax compliance, event/logistics businesses, or climate tech
