Healthcare Executive Placements, Inc. (HCEPInc) is seeking an Interim Director of Quality and Risk Management for a W2 Contract position based in the Los Angeles, CA area.

Schedule: Full time, 5 8's Days, 7am\-3:30pmAssignment Duration: 3\-6 MonthsCompensation: This position offers a daily rate between $775 to $800 per day which equates to $3,875 to $4,000 per week (based on a 40\-hour workweek).Per Diems: Lodging: $191 per day and Meals \& Incidentals: $86 per day

Per diems are paid daily, 7 days a week, totaling $1,939 per week

Auto Stipend: $25 per day

Auto stipend is paid daily, 7 days a week, totaling $175 per week

Total Weekly Compensation (Daily Rate \+ Per Diems \+ Auto Stipend): Between $5,989\.00 to $6,114\.00 per week

The Interim Director of Quality and Risk Management provides strategic, operational, and clinical leadership to advance quality, patient safety, and risk mitigation initiatives across the organization. This role partners closely with executive leadership, medical staff, and department leaders to drive a data\-driven culture focused on continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and optimal patient outcomes. The Director serves as a subject matter expert in performance improvement, risk management, and patient safety, ensuring programs are aligned with organizational priorities and industry best practices.

Essential Functions:

Leads organization\-wide Quality, Performance Improvement (PI), and Risk Management programs, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and regulatory requirements.

Oversees quality reporting, patient safety initiatives, and risk mitigation strategies, including incident reporting, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning.

Coordinates accreditation, licensure, and regulatory readiness efforts (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS, state requirements).

Implements and sustains performance improvement methodologies (e.g., PDSA, Lean, Six Sigma) to drive measurable improvements in clinical outcomes and operational performance.

Develops, monitors, and reports on key performance indicators, publicly reported measures, and patient safety metrics.

Partners with clinical and operational leaders to evaluate processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement sustainable solutions.

Leads interdisciplinary teams and facilitates performance improvement and patient safety initiatives across departments.

Establishes and maintains policies, procedures, and standards that support quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Oversees data collection, analysis, and reporting to inform decision\-making and support organizational performance goals.

Provides education and training to staff and leadership on quality, risk, and regulatory requirements.

Communicates progress, outcomes, and recommendations to executive leadership and key stakeholders.

Promotes a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous learning across the organization.

Qualifications:

Minimum of five (5\) years of experience in an acute care hospital setting with a focus on Quality, Patient Safety, Performance Improvement, and/or Risk Management required.

Minimum of three (3\) years of leadership experience at the manager or director level required.

Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.

Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Active California RN License required.

BLS Certification required.

CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) preferred.

Strong experience with performance improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, PDSA).

Core Competencies:

Strong analytical skills with experience in data interpretation, statistical reporting, and performance metrics.

Proven ability to lead complex initiatives and drive measurable outcomes.

Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders.

Strong problem\-solving, decision\-making, and organizational skills.

Work Environment \& Physical Requirements:

Work performed in both administrative and clinical settings.

Fast\-paced environment requiring adaptability and ability to manage competing priorities.

Frequent interaction with clinical teams, leadership, and regulatory bodies.

May require standing, walking, and occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs).
