TICRO Bioservices is the contract research organization (CRO) division of Trudeau Institute, a nonprofit biomedical research institute with more than 140 years of scientific excellence. TICRO provides high-quality in vivo preclinical research to support early-stage vaccine and therapeutic development for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, academic, government, and nonprofit partners worldwide.
Our core expertise spans infectious disease, immunology, microbiology, and virology, including studies involving BSL-2 and BSL-3 pathogens of high relevance to human health. Using established and well-validated animal models, TICRO enables partners to assess efficacy, immune response, and mechanism of action in early-phase, non-GLP preclinical programs.
Role Overview
TICRO is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Contract Research Sales Director to drive revenue growth by expanding relationships with existing clients and developing new business across biotech, pharmaceutical, academic, government, and nonprofit sectors.
This is a front-line commercial role with direct responsibility for pipeline development, deal progression, and revenue generation. The successful candidate will serve as the primary commercial interface between TICRO and its partners, matching needs with compelling research solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Revenue Growth
- Own and execute a targeted business development strategy to expand TICRO’s preclinical CRO portfolio, with a focus on infectious disease and immunology programs.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities with biotech, pharmaceutical, government, nonprofit, and academic organizations.
- Build, manage, and advance a robust sales pipeline from lead generation through contract execution to meet or exceed revenue targets.
- Monitor market trends, competitive offerings, and client needs to identify growth opportunities.
- Provide regular pipeline updates, revenue forecasts, and market intelligence to Trudeau Institute leadership.
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for prospective and active clients.
- Develop trusted, long-term relationships that drive repeat business, program expansion, and multi-year engagements.
- Engage clients through scientific discussions, meetings, and strategic check-ins to identify new opportunities.
- Represent TICRO at scientific conferences, partnering meetings, and industry events to generate leads and elevate brand presence.
Proposal Development & Contract Execution
- Coordinate with internal Scientific Study Directors to develop proposals, scopes of work, timelines, and budgets aligned with client objectives.
- Ensure confidentiality agreements (CDAs) and master services agreements (MSAs) are executed efficiently.
- Support contract discussions and negotiations in collaboration with Trudeau Institute leadership and administrative teams.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field; advanced degree (MS, PhD, MBA) strongly preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or client partnerships within a preclinical CRO, biotech, pharma, or scientific services environment.
- Demonstrated success generating new business and managing a sales pipeline.
- Strong understanding of preclinical study design, particularly in infectious disease, immunology, vaccines, or therapeutic development.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Preferred
- Existing network within biopharma, government, or nonprofit research communities.
- Experience selling or managing BSL-2 / BSL-3 preclinical services or in vivo efficacy programs.
- Familiarity with government or foundation funding mechanisms and research contracting processes.
Pay: $130,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
