About This Role

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Interim Family Programming Director oversees the full range of Family Programming operations under the guidance of the SVP/General Manager.

This position ensures that all departments—including Childcare and children's programs, the Youth Center and youth programs, birthday parties, and camps—operate smoothly and deliver high‑quality, professional, and nurturing experiences for members and their children. The Interim Director is responsible for maintaining exceptional service standards, fostering a safe, clean, and engaging environment, and ensuring that all team members uphold established guidelines and best practices. Throughout the interim period, the Director provides steady leadership, supports staff performance, and helps sustain an environment that consistently exceeds member expectations.

The Interim Family Programming Director will serve in this role for approximately four to six months, with the possibility of extension.

#### PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible to manage Family Programming operations smoothly and efficiently through visible management presence and leadership
  • Ensure children's safety through continuous monitoring of safety and performance standards, service provider ratios, childcare facilities, equipment and operational systems; ensure constant interaction with children in our care
  • Ensure team members work actively and efficiently while on shift
  • Perform administrative duties including, but not limited to, updating reservation systems, communicating with members, and creating marketing materials
  • Develop, organize, implement and promote program, camp and birthday parties
  • Adherence to and enforcement of all health and safety standards; ensure Associates adhere to human resource and work safety practices
  • Monitor uniform adherence of all childcare and program staff
  • Communicate timely and follow up as appropriate
  • Active participation in events, programs, meetings and training
  • Represent the Family Progamming department and club in a professional manner through image, dress, communication, and immediate follow-through and response
  • Be present on the floor; support staff and offer assistance as necessary
  • Meet weekly with Childcare Director to review initiatives and goals; develop programming
  • Act as the department representative when necessary in the event that the Childcare Director is not present; professionally and appropriately field member questions/concerns.
  • Train staff to meet or exceed demands of the business; provide feedback and build relationships
  • Monitor staff to ensure compliance with company guidelines
  • Represent the club in a professional manner through image, dress, communication, and immediate follow through and response

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Minimum one (3) years of childcare operations/management
  • Demonstrated experience creating and implementing innovative children's programs
  • Love for children and extensive experience caring for children ages 6 months to 13 years
  • Ability to train staff caring for children ages 6 months to 13 years in both childcare and program settings
  • Professional, friendly manner and excellent customer service attitude and abilities
  • Strong verbal communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Enthusiastic, responsible, and dependable team player
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative and willing to acquire new skills
  • Well organized and detail oriented
  • Computer literate
  • CPR certification required

  • Must have the ability to perform CPR and administer first aid as needed
  • Must frequently move 10 pounds and in the event of an emergency lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required but this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
