Interim CEO (Fintech & Real Estate Securitization) – Colombia & Mexico Launch

$195,253-$240,176/yrRemote

About This Role

About the Role

Equitysmith is seeking a visionary and institutionally\-grounded Interim CEO to lead our 2026 launch into the high\-growth "nearshoring" corridors of Colombia and Mexico. As the face of our homegrown, "Sovereign" tokenization\-securitization platform, you will bridge the gap between traditional civil law fiduciary systems and modern digital asset infrastructure.

This is a rare opportunity for a bilingual executive with a deep background in investment banking, commercial real estate (CRE), or fintech to build a de facto sovereign liquidity bridge for the Latin American market.

The Equitysmith Business Model

Equitysmith serves as a homegrown, sovereign liquidity bridge for the Latin American CRE sector. Our model is designed for bank and trust company empowerment, not disintermediation.

  • Securitization Engine: We facilitate a seamless hand\-off to domestic banks and trusts (such as Credicorp Capital), which act as lead trustees and issuers of securitized instruments.
  • Legal Nativity: Every structure is built on existing local legal frameworks \- specifically the *Patrimonio Autónomo* in Colombia and the *Fideicomiso\-CPO* in Mexico.
  • Asset\-Backed Integrity: We convert private real estate into institutional\-grade investment vehicles, ensuring digital shares are underpinned by the same "public faith" as traditional fixed\-income securities.
  • The "Sovereign Moat": Unlike foreign competitors using "offshore" wrappers, Equitysmith keeps management fees and capital flows within the domestic economy, optimizing for local tax incentives and fiduciary protections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the 2026 pilot launch in Bogotá and Monterrey, overseeing the tokenization of an initial $50M portfolio of Class A industrial warehouses.
  • Regulatory \& Fiduciary Liaison: Manage high\-level relationships with the Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia (SFC) and the CNBV in Mexico.
  • Institutional Distribution: Partner with domestic banks to market securitized instruments to Pension Funds (AFPs/AFOREs) and insurance companies.
  • Operational Integrity: Enforce the "Sovereign Protocol," including quarterly Big Four "Proof\-of\-Reserve" audits and 1:1 asset\-backing requirements.

Requirements

  • Language: Native or professional\-grade fluency in Spanish and English is essential.
  • Experience: 15\+ years of experience in Investment Banking, Fund Management, or Commercial Real Estate. Previous experience at a Managing Director level or as a Fintech founder is highly preferred.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of Latin American Civil Law, specifically fiduciary structures (*Fideicomisos* and *Patrimonios Autónomos*).
  • Tech Literacy: Familiarity with blockchain, smart contracts, and RWA (Real\-World Asset) tokenization platforms.
  • Education: MBA or advanced degree in Law or Finance is expected.

Why Join Us?

Equitysmith offers a "Sovereign Premium" in a fragmented market. You will be supported by a Board comprised of former Ministers of Finance and senior investment bankers. We are a venture\-scale firm with a path to a Series A targeting a secondary trading exchange launch.
