About This Role
JUNA is supporting a specialist consultancy delivering a business-critical technology transformation programme for a major UK government agency.
We're looking for an experienced interim Head of Delivery / Senior Technology Programme Manager to take ownership of a complex technology portfolio, leading multidisciplinary teams and overseeing systems integration, infrastructure, application enhancements and supplier delivery.
This is a hands-on leadership assignment requiring genuine technical understanding, strong programme governance and the ability to build trusted relationships with demanding senior stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead complex technology projects across systems integration, data migration, infrastructure, testing and security
- Manage multidisciplinary technical teams, external suppliers and multimillion-pound delivery budgets
- Oversee technical delivery, service transition, change management and operational dependencies
- Provide clear, detailed reporting to senior leadership, confidently challenging decisions and suppliers where appropriate
- Ensure delivery quality, risk management and continuity across critical operational systems
What we're looking for:
- Extensive technical project/programme delivery experience, ideally 15+ years
- Proven track record delivering complex IT transformation in government or regulated environments
- Strong understanding of Microsoft technologies, infrastructure, systems integration and service management
- Experience managing technical teams, major suppliers and significant capital budgets
- Exceptional stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills
- Established interim/contracting background preferred
- Active SC clearance is essential.
- City of London Police background would be advantageous as would NPPV3 clearance.
Relevant sector experience could include:
Central government, Home Office, Ministry of Justice, HMRC, Department for Work and Pensions, Ministry of Defence, NHS, UK Health Security Agency, local government, emergency services, policing, criminal justice, border security, immigration, transport, defence, national infrastructure, regulatory bodies and other security-sensitive public-sector environments.
Contract details:
- Rate: £500–£600/day, inside IR35
- Duration: 6 months initially
- Location: London, 3 days onsite per week
- Start: November preferred
- Clearance: Active SC mandatory as a minimum
