Position Overview
We are seeking a Fractional CFO \& Operations Manager to join our team. This role combines high\-level financial advisory work with internal operational leadership. You will serve as a trusted advisor to our clients while also helping optimize and scale our firm’s internal processes.
This role also serves as a technical accounting leader internally, providing guidance to the accounting team on complex issues and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of client financials.
This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in both strategic finance and hands\-on operations, especially within the IT/MSP ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Fractional CFO Services (Client\-Facing)
- Serve as a strategic financial partner to MSP clients
- Lead monthly/quarterly financial reviews and executive reporting
- Develop and monitor key financial KPIs (EBITDA, gross margin, service profitability, etc.)
- Build financial models, forecasts, and budgets
- Provide pricing, packaging, and profitability guidance specific to MSP services
- Support clients with cash flow management and scaling strategies
- Advise on financial systems, reporting automation, and operational efficiency
- Collaborate with client leadership teams on strategic planning
Technical Accounting Oversight \& Client Review
- Review and validate client financials for accuracy and completeness
- Perform high\-level audits of client books and accounting processes
- Identify and resolve complex accounting issues across client engagements
- Ensure consistency and adherence to accounting standards and firm best practices
- Provide final oversight on financial reporting prior to client delivery
Internal Accounting Leadership
- Advise and support the accounting team on complex accounting matters
- Provide guidance on unusual transactions, edge cases, and technical accounting scenarios
- Help elevate team knowledge, judgment, and overall quality of work
- Establish best practices for financial statement accuracy and month\-end close
Internal Operations Leadership
- Improve and oversee internal workflows, systems, and delivery processes
- Help define and scale service offerings and pricing models
- Drive operational efficiency and capacity planning
- Implement and maintain internal KPIs and performance dashboards
- Work closely with leadership on growth initiatives and firm strategy
- Support team development, onboarding, and process documentation

Qualifications
Required:
- 15\+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or CFO\-level advisory
- Strong understanding of financial statements and KPI\-driven management
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and ability to resolve complex issues
- Experience reviewing financials and identifying errors, inconsistencies, or risks
- Prior fractional CFO or advisory experience
- Demonstrated ability to translate financial data into business insights
- Strong communication and presentation skills (client\-facing experience required)
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple clients/projects
Preferred:
- Experience working with or within IT/MSP companies
- Experience with MSP tools and metrics (ConnectWise, Autotask, PSA tools, etc.)
- Familiarity with recurring revenue models and SaaS/MSP financial structures
- Experience scaling service\-based businesses
- CPA, MBA, or equivalent experience

Compensation
Competitive and based on experience; includes performance incentives tied to client and firm success.
Pay: $130,000\.00 \- $160,000\.00 per year
