Senior Accountant / Fractional CFO Support (Remote)

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced accounting professional who can operate beyond basic bookkeeping and compliance work. This role is for someone who understands accounting at a high level, has solid audit experience, and is comfortable supporting CFO\-level financial operations for clients.

This is not an entry\-level accounting role, and it’s not a position for someone who only prepares reconciliations or tax returns. We need someone who can think critically, communicate professionally with business owners, and help maintain high financial standards across multiple engagements.

The ideal candidate has experience in public accounting or advisory environments and is confident managing both technical accounting work and higher\-level financial oversight responsibilities.

This position is fully remote.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Perform and review month\-end and year\-end accounting work
• Assist with audit preparation, financial statement review, and supporting documentation
• Support CFO/advisory services for business clients
• Analyze financial reports and identify inconsistencies or areas of concern
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting
• Maintain accurate general ledger activity and reconciliations
• Work directly with leadership and clients on financial matters
• Help improve accounting processes and internal controls
• Communicate clearly with clients regarding financial performance and reporting needs

What We’re Looking For

• Strong accounting foundation with hands\-on audit experience
• Experience providing CFO services, outsourced controller work, or financial advisory support
• Ability to work independently without constant oversight
• Strong understanding of financial statements and business operations
• Experience in public accounting, CAS (Client Accounting Services), or advisory services preferred
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Professional communication skills with clients and internal teams
• CPA preferred, but not required for the right candidate
• Experience with QuickBooks, Excel, and cloud\-based accounting systems expected
