About This Role
Fraxtional is a fractional compliance firm that gives fintech, crypto, and payments companies senior compliance leadership without the cost of a full-time hire. We've partnered with more than 100 clients and were recognized as a Top 10 Fractional Compliance Firm in the U.S. for 2024 and 2025.
We're building our bench of Fractional Chief Compliance Officers to lead compliance programs for startup through Series B companies. This is a remote, contract role for US-based compliance leaders. Engagements vary by client, and you may support one or more companies at a time.
We have a strong preference for candidates with crypto, digital asset, or crypto exchange experience.
What you'll do
- Design, implement, and maintain the compliance program and governance structure for each client
- Serve as the primary liaison to regulators, sponsor banks, and auditors
- Keep policies current with regulatory changes and assess their impact on the business
- Serve as the named CCO of record on NMLS for licensed money transmitter clients, where required
- Support money transmitter licensing, renewals, examinations, and audit response
- Oversee BSA/AML, OFAC, and KYC/KYB programs in partnership with client teams
- Provide compliance training and guidance to staff and leadership
- Report on compliance program status to leadership and the board
What we're looking for
- Prior fintech compliance experience is required, ideally as a CCO, BSA Officer, or senior compliance leader
- Crypto, digital asset, or crypto exchange compliance experience is strongly preferred
- Experience building or scaling compliance programs at startup through Series B companies
- Hands-on experience with sponsor banks, state regulators, and examinations
- Strong working knowledge of BSA/AML, OFAC, and money transmitter regulations
- Comfortable working directly with founders and executive teams
- Must be US-based
- Nice to have: CAMS, CRCM, or similar certification, and experience with Travel Rule and virtual asset risk programs
Compensation
$110 to $150 per hour, based on experience. Remote, contract.
