We are currently looking for an experienced Interim VP Engineering for a technology-driven scale-up operating on a global market. The company has built a leading digital platform used by millions of users and is entering a critical phase of growth, scaling, and product evolution.

This is an opportunity to step into a senior leadership role where you will be responsible for driving engineering strategy, organizational effectiveness, and technical excellence across multiple product and engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop Engineering Managers, Directors, Staff Engineers, and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Define and execute the engineering strategy aligned with company objectives and long-term growth plans.
- Drive organizational scaling, leadership development, succession planning, and recruitment efforts.
- Ensure delivery excellence, engineering quality, and predictable execution across multiple teams.
- Own technical roadmap discussions and support architectural decisions for highly scalable cloud-based platforms.
- Partner closely with Product, Commercial, Data, and Executive Leadership teams to balance business priorities and technical investments.
- Foster a high-performance engineering culture focused on innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Improve engineering processes, ways of working, and organizational effectiveness.
- Support platform modernization, scalability initiatives, and reliability improvements.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on technology, organizational, and delivery-related matters.
Required Experience
- Extensive leadership experience as VP Engineering, Head of Engineering, Director of Engineering, or equivalent senior engineering leadership role.
- Proven track record of leading managers and managing larger engineering organizations in fast-growing product companies.
- Experience scaling engineering teams in SaaS, platform, marketplace, adtech, media tech, fintech, or other high-growth digital environments.
- Strong understanding of modern software development practices, cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, and data-driven platforms.
- Experience balancing strategic leadership with hands-on support of engineering organizations.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience working at executive level.
- Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change and improve delivery performance.
- Experience operating in international and distributed organizations.
Preferred Background
- Experience from platform businesses with large-scale user traffic.
- Experience leading cloud-based environments, preferably AWS.
- Familiarity with modern engineering ecosystems including microservices, data platforms, and real-time systems.
- Previous interim or transformation leadership experience is highly valued.
