Fractional CFO / CPA (Retainer\-Based)
About the Role
Ecojohn is seeking an experienced Fractional CFO / CPA to provide ongoing financial leadership, accounting oversight, and strategic planning on a retainer basis. This role is ideal for a hands\-on financial professional who can manage core accounting functions while also supporting leadership with cash flow management, financial modeling, and long\-term planning.
You will work closely with the executive team to strengthen financial systems, improve visibility into performance, and support Ecojohn’s continued growth in domestic and international markets.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting \& Bookkeeping
\- Oversee and/or manage monthly bookkeeping (QuickBooks)
\- Ensure accurate general ledger, reconciliations, and journal entries
\- Review AP/AR processes, inventory accounting, and COGS
\- Prepare and review monthly financial statements (P\&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
\- Maintain GAAP\-compliant accounting practices
Cash Flow \& Financial Planning
\- Develop and maintain rolling cash flow projections
\- Monitor burn rate, liquidity, and working capital needs
\- Improve forecasting tied to production schedules and sales pipeline
\- Identify cost controls, margin improvements, and pricing insights
CFO\-Level Strategic Support
\- Build financial models, budgets, and multi\-scenario forecasts
\- Support capital planning, equipment investments, and growth initiatives
\- Provide financial insight for new product lines and market expansion
\- Prepare financial reporting for lenders, investors, or strategic partners
\- Advise leadership on financial risks and opportunities
Tax \& Compliance (CPA)
\- Prepare or coordinate federal and state tax filings
\- Ensure proper sales tax compliance across multiple states
\- Support year\-end close and audit readiness
\- Provide proactive tax planning and compliance guidance
Qualifications
\- Active CPA license (required)
\- 10\+ years of accounting and finance experience
\- Experience as a Fractional CFO, Controller, or CFO
\- Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting and inventory
\- Proven expertise in cash flow forecasting and financial modeling
\- Proficient in QuickBooks
\- Strong communication skills with non\-financial stakeholders
