Northstar Financial Advisory is a fast\-growing outsourced accounting, bookkeeping, and tax firm supporting small to mid\-sized businesses.
We built our foundation in the cannabis space and are expanding into construction, healthcare, SaaS, and ecommerce.
We don’t just “do the books”—we build finance functions that scale.
What Makes This Role Different
You won’t be working in silos.
You’ll lead a fully integrated finance team (controller, senior accountant, bookkeeper) with real\-time data, not outdated reports.
When you advise a client, it’s based on what’s happening now—not last month.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and develop Northstar’s client\-facing CFO function across multiple engagements
- Manage, coach, and mentor CFOs and senior finance leaders serving clients
- Own Financial Planning \& Analysis (FP\&A), including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Oversee client health, delivery quality, and escalation management across the portfolio
- Partner with the CEO to ensure client service is scalable, consistent, and excellent
- Build repeatable processes, best practices, and accountability across the client\-facing team
- Own cash flow, forecasting, and budgeting
- Develop KPIs and dashboards that drive decisions
- Present to boards, investors, and lenders
- Guide capital strategy and transaction support (M\&A, financing, etc.)
- Partner on tax strategy in real time
- Set the standard for client communication, strategic guidance, and financial leadership
What We’re Looking For
- 8\+ years in accounting or finance leadership
- Experience as a CFO, VP Finance, or senior finance leader
- Strong modeling, forecasting, and strategic thinking skills
- Ability to translate numbers into business decisions
- Comfortable managing multiple clients in a fast\-paced environment
CPA preferred but not required
Client\-facing experience is a plus

- Fully Remote role operating in PST hours
- High\-impact, client\-facing position
- Exposure to multiple industries and growth\-stage companies
- Base salary range up to $250,000 plus bonus structure commensurate with experience.

Compensation Range: $200K \- $250K
