Fractional CFO - Remote

Join a fast‑growing fractional CFO firm supporting small and mid‑sized businesses. We’re seeking an experienced, client‑facing Fractional CFO to lead financial operations, deliver clear insights, and guide business owners on budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow strategy. This role is remote with periodic on‑site client visits.

No business development required — clients are assigned directly to you. Your focus is delivering exceptional financial leadership, not selling or sourcing new accounts. Clients are brought to you by leadership and the business development team. If you choose to pursue your own BD efforts, you are welcome to do so but it is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow planning for assigned clients
• Serve as the primary financial advisor to business owners; review financials monthly
• Review and validate team‑prepared financial deliverables for accuracy and quality
• Build financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability and cash flow
• Translate financial data into actionable recommendations for business owners
• Advise on capital structure, growth planning, and risk management
• Collaborate with accountants, attorneys, bankers, and internal team members
• Support client financing needs with knowledge of commercial lending structures
• Maintain documentation, timelines, and client communication

Workload Expectations

• Manage approximately 6–10 clients with team support
• Client retainers typically range from 10–20 hours per month
• Core client size ranges from $5 million to $100 million in annual revenue

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
• 5+ years in a Finance Manager, Controller, Consultant, or similar client‑facing role
• Experience in banking, finance, or accounting
• C&I banking experience is a plus

• Strong strategic financial acumen
• Financial process improvement experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
