Part Time Chief Financial Officer – Stone Harbor Borough.
Seeks an experienced part\-time Chief Financial Officer (CFO)/Director of Finance (oversees Tax Collector and Tax Assessor Departments) who holds a New Jersey CMFO license and has 3\+ years’ experience in a municipal finance setting, either as an Assistant, Deputy CFO, or CFO. The Borough operates a $ 24 million operating budget and a $6 million water and sewer budget. The 2024 audit had no findings and recommendations, which indicates our strong financial operations. Key responsibilities include preparing and maintaining annual operating and capital budgets, grant accounting, bank reconciliations and supporting workpapers, maintaining general ledger, cash management, debt management, assisting with audits,1099 preparation, overseeing capital and trust funds, monitoring internal financial controls, supervising staff, handling special projects, meetings and other related duties as needed. The desired candidate will possess the following qualifications: CMFO certification, strong management, mathematical, and analytical skills, professional demeanor, excellent communication abilities, knowledge of NJ law, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience with, Edmunds GovTech, is preferred. Certification as a Qualified Purchasing Agent (QPA) is a plus.
It is anticipated that this part\-time position will be 3 days per week or approximately twenty\-four hours per week. The salary range is $72,000\-$99,000 and is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
