Rock CFO is Fractional CFO Firm that started in Utah in 2019\. They have a Fractional CFO team and have expanded operations to 2 locations, Utah and Kansas City, MO. They serve clients typically in the $5M to $50M range.
Summary of Role
We have an immediate opening for a Fractional CFO or Controller to work with the Rock CFO team to help a non\-profit organization improve their accounting team and processes. They need assistance passing an audit and getting some things organized. They can also use some experienced guidance and leadership on seeing how to become a stronger Finance and Accounting team that efficiently runs a tight shop.
You will have the flexibility of working 1 to 2 days per week and add great value to this team and project. You will get to be hands on with some of the cleanup and more importantly drive the vision and help mentor the team on how they can build a top\-notch accounting and finance organization. You will report to the President and the be peers with the current leader of the accounting function. Although, some mentorship for this accounting leader will be helpful.
Responsibilities
1\. Oversee cleanup of books
- Audit prep. The team is still working toward preparing for and passing the annual audit. Some work will need to be done and spearheaded to incorporate this work.
- Vision setting: Help the team see how to take the Accounting and Finance functions to the next level of proficiency and dependability for the organization. Help them build and achieve this next iteration of their teams growth.
Systems and processes
- New Accounting system transition: The team has begun the journey to transition to a new accounting system. They need some resources and guidance if fully implementing and adopting the new system.
Finance and Budget
- Grant Accounting, budgeting, and forecasting: Improve timeliness of grant accounting, forecasting, and budgeting. Work with division leaders to understand amount spent, amount left to spend in budgets.
Qualifications
· 25 years or more of accounting work experience
· 5\+ years working in a non\-profit environment receiving Federal and State Grants.
· Ability to lead a clean up process and build a successful accounting team.
Pay: $4,000\.00 \- $7,500\.00 per month
Work Location: In person
