In this role, you’ll:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for small and mid‑sized business clients, providing ongoing accounting, tax and advisory support
  • Oversee and review monthly and quarterly accounting processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Review bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial statements prepared by staff or clients, and resolve accounting issues as they arise
  • Work extensively in QuickBooks (Online and Desktop), including clean‑ups, process improvements, and system optimization
  • Analyze financial statements and explain results, trends, and key metrics to business owners in a clear, practical manner
  • Provide fractional CFO‑level support, including budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and profitability analysis
  • Partner with clients on financial decision‑making, helping them understand their numbers and plan next steps for their business
  • Collaborate closely with team members to align financial reporting with proactive tax planning and compliance
  • Support business and individual tax engagements as needed, based on experience level and firm workload
  • Participate in advisory and planning meetings focused on financial performance, operations, and growth
  • Build strong, long‑term client relationships through consistent communication and trusted guidance
  • Mentor and support staff working on client accounting engagements and contribute to a collaborative team environment
  • Perform multiple tax and write\-up engagements for small and medium sized businesses, and their owners, from mid to high level complexity
  • Perform research on tax topics and analyze/draw conclusions
  • Formulate and deliver innovative tax planning, strategy and client service
  • Cultivate strong client relationships through collaboration and consistent communication

If you’re the right fit, you’ll have:

  • A 4\-year post\-secondary education
  • 5\+ years of tax and accounting experience
  • CPA or EA preferred
  • Experience working in a Remote Environment
  • Traits like being a fast learner, entrepreneurial spirit, and strong analytical skills driven by curiosity and a desire for continuous improvement
  • Enthusiasm with delving into research to discover innovative solutions
  • Strong desire to embrace AI and adapt to technology changes
  • Willingness to support or lead Fractional CFO/Controller and tax work
  • Experience being the main client contact for accounting and tax engagements, including high\-net\-worth clients
  • Exposure to WI income tax and WI clients
  • Expertise withAI, QuickBooks and Microsoft 365
  • Working experience with Thomsen Reuters Products (CoCounsel Tax, Ultra Tax, SurePrep, SafeSend, Fixed Assets CS, Practice CS, Workpaper CS, and GoFileRoom)

  • 12\. Walk us through how you prepare and analyze financial statements for a client? What key elements do you focus on, and how do you ensure the accuracy of the data?
