About the Role

The Vice President Supply Chain \& Contracts will be responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on strategic sourcing cost savings, develop projects through detailed technical and financial negotiations, contract management, supplier relationship development, and develop systems and tools while maintaining quality and safety. The position will be responsible for embedding effective financial management practices and audit controls. In addition, the position will be responsible for building, managing, and developing a high performing team in the sourcing function as well as establishing a culture of efficiency and effectiveness. This important leadership position collaborates with all Senior Leaders to advance the company's strategic sourcing processes to meet company goals.

POSITION’S ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops, implements, and monitors an annual comprehensive business plan that progressively enhances the strategies, talent, processes, and technology of Strategic Sourcing \& Purchasing.
  • Identifies and prioritizes opportunities via spend analysis, contract expiration forecast, future budgets, and business planning sessions with stakeholders.
  • Obtains price files and fully executed contracts with information required by appropriate terms and conditions that ensure adherence and compliance to all contractual, financial, local, and regulatory specifications or requirements.
  • Manages direct contracts with a strategic focus on reimbursement, clinical preference, and case profitability.
  • Manages pharmacy and purchased services categories. Identifies contract opportunities, utilization/compliance improvements, spend impact, and standardization opportunities through data mining, enterprise teams, and requests from facilities and contract analysts.
  • Is also responsible for all aspects of purchasing including procurement of medical and non\-medical supplies and equipment while ensuring items purchased meet GPO compliance.
  • Responsible for bidding and negotiating contracts for assigned area.
  • Develops and maintains policies, procedures and KPIs.
  • Coordinates with Logistics and local material managers to ensure timely order and fulfillment of necessary supplies.
  • Manages the vendor selection process as well as audits and monitors current vendor performance and contracts or programs overall effectiveness.
  • Audits contracts to ensure compliance.
  • Set clear goals and expectations; provide regular coaching, feedback, and performance reviews.
  • Develop talent through mentoring, training, and career development initiatives.
  • Promote a collaborative and engaging work environment that aligns with company values.
  • Manage conflict and make timely decisions to maintain team focus and performance.
  • Conduct regular one\-on\-one meetings, performance reviews, and development conversations.
  • Approve timecards, schedules, time\-off requests, and other administrative HR functions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and safety regulations.
  • All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4 years/Bachelor's Degree.
  • Master’s degree in business, supply chain or a health care\-related field preferred.
  • The role requires a deep understanding of Supply Chain functions, including, but not limited to, knowledge of GPO and local contract sourcing, and related procedures pertaining to materials management and purchasing.
  • 3\+ years proven leadership experience in developing strategic teams in a highly matrixed environment.
  • 3\+ years’ experience in strategic sourcing required, in a contracting, supply chain management, and/or strategic sourcing leadership position.
  • Experience in a health care setting is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in adopting leading practices and designing and implementing innovative sourcing solutions.
