1 Exam Prep is a nationally recognized leader in contractor licensing, exam preparation, and business startup services for the construction industry. We help contractors across the United States obtain their professional licenses, pass required exams, and successfully launch their businesses.

We are seeking a motivated Inside Sales Representative to join our growing team. This role focuses on working warm leads and inbound inquiries from contractors who need exam prep courses, reference books, licensing guidance, and business setup services.

This position is primarily remote, though candidates should be open to potential future in\-office collaboration days as our team grows.

We generate thousands of contractor leads every year, many of whom are already familiar with our brand. Your role will be to guide them through the licensing process and recommend the right exam prep and licensing solutions.

This role offers a base salary plus commission, with expected earnings between $70,000 and $120,000\+ annually for high performers.

We provide the leads. You close the deals.

Key ResponsibilitiesContractor Lead Management

  • Work inbound and outbound leads from contractors seeking licensing and exam prep services.
  • Contact prospective clients via phone, text, email, and CRM workflows.
  • Follow up with leads generated from our website, webinars, and marketing campaigns.

Contractor\-Focused Sales Consultations

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to contractors pursuing professional licenses.
  • Conduct discovery calls to understand their trade, state requirements, and licensing goals.
  • Present tailored solutions including exam prep programs, books, tutoring, and application assistance.

Relationship Building with Contractors

  • Build long\-term relationships with contractors and construction professionals.
  • Provide guidance on licensing pathways, exam requirements, and preparation strategies.
  • Maintain a professional, helpful approach that reflects our brand’s reputation in the contractor industry.

Sales Pipeline \& CRM Management

  • Maintain accurate records of all sales activity within the CRM system.
  • Track lead progress, follow\-ups, and closing opportunities.
  • Provide weekly updates on pipeline, conversions, and revenue performance.

Collaboration with Marketing \& Operations

  • Work closely with our marketing team to improve lead conversion.
  • Provide feedback on customer trends and objections.
  • Coordinate with our operations team to ensure smooth onboarding of new students.

Qualifications

  • Sales experience required (inside sales, consultative sales, or phone sales preferred).
  • Experience in construction, contractor services, licensing, education, or training industries is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication and phone presentation skills.
  • Ability to build trust quickly with contractors and business owners.
  • Goal\-oriented with a proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Comfortable using CRM systems, sales pipelines, and lead management tools.
  • Self\-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred (But Not Required)

  • Experience working with contractors, tradespeople, or construction businesses.
  • Familiarity with contractor licensing processes.
  • Experience selling education, training, or certification programs.

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $40,000 annually
  • Commission Structure: Uncapped earnings based on sales performance
  • Expected Earnings: $70,000 – $120,000\+ annually for successful representatives
