Healthcare Executive Placements, Inc. (HCEPInc) is seeking anInterim Nurse Consultant, Trauma Performance Improvementfor a W2 Contract position based in South Sacramento, CA.
Schedule: Full time, 7am-3:30pm, 5 8's
Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks (possibility of extending)
Compensation:
This position offers a daily rate of $710 to $730 which equates to $3,550 to $3,650 per week (based on a 5-day / 40-hour workweek)
Per Diems: Lodging: $150 per day and Meals & Incidentals: $86 per day
Per diems are paid daily, 7 days a week, totaling $1,652 per week
Auto Stipend: $25 per day
Stipend is paid daily, 7 days a week, totaling $175 per week
Total Weekly Compensation (Daily Rate + Per Diems + Stipend): Between $5,377 to $5,477 per week

Summary:
The Interim Nurse Consultant, Trauma Performance Improvement / Quality will provide subject matter expertise to support trauma program performance improvement and quality initiatives within a healthcare organization. This role partners closely with trauma leadership, clinical teams, and quality stakeholders to evaluate trauma processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and support compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
The ideal consultant brings recent hands-on trauma experience, with a strong foundation in Trauma Performance Improvement and/or Quality, and is comfortable working in a complex, fast-paced healthcare environment. This interim role is consultative in nature and focused on driving measurable improvements in trauma care delivery and outcomes.
Essential Functions:
Provide clinical and operational expertise to support Trauma Performance Improvement (PI) and Quality initiatives within the trauma program.
Review, analyze, and trend trauma data to identify opportunities for performance improvement and quality enhancement.
Support trauma case reviews, audits, and PI activities in alignment with organizational policies and external regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including trauma leadership, nursing, physicians, and quality departments, to implement improvement strategies.
Assist with preparation for trauma-related surveys, reviews, and regulatory or accreditation activities as needed.
Promote evidence-based practices and support initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes, safety, and care processes.
Provide guidance and recommendations related to trauma workflows, documentation, and quality metrics.
Serve as a resource and subject matter expert for trauma quality and performance improvement best practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. Equivalent experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
Recent trauma experience is required, preferably with Trauma Performance Improvement or Quality experience.
Active California RN License is required.
BLS Certification required.
Preferred:
Master of Science in Nursing preferred.
ICU and/or ED experience.
